The Steps to Take
This is the version of CheapProWebsite.com that was constructed online using Wordpress software. This is what I consider to be the easiest way to construct a web site. It gives you a bit more flexibility than any online generator software, and I find it easier to do. However, you can build a very professional looking personal website or brochure web site using the free online generator some hosts provide. For a large e-commerce web site, your best bet is still going to be an off-line WYSIWYG HTML editor. You can use the link at the bottom of this page to return to the off-line generated version of this site, if you’d like.
So, you want to start your own business online, or you want to expand your current “brick and mortar” business to an online audience. Well, this website is dedicated to helping make that whole process easy and simple. Now, I’m not going to lie to you, this is going to involve some work on your part. If you don’t think you can handle devoting some time and some effort into building your own site, then you just need to forget about it, and hire someone to do it for you.
Just remember, a really good professional site is going to cost you quite a bit of money to have built, and the larger and more complex the web site, the more it will cost. Plus, you’re still going to have to do most of the steps to building your site yourself, with some guidance from your web site designer. You still have to supply the web site designer with your market, some of the keywords they would be searching for, content related to your market and products, and the product or products that you want to sell.The web designer’s job is to take all of that information and content, help you decide on how to organize it on your web site, and then build the actual site itself. If the company you use is also does search engine optimization (SEO), then they’ll also submit your web site to various search engines and directories. For an additional charge, they may also improve and optimize your content to make it search engine friendly, and submit it to the big three search engines.
The fact is, you can do all of this work yourself, in just a few days, if you know what to do and how to do it. In reality, there are only five steps necessary to build a great web site, and for most of these, you have to do at least part of the work yourself. Here are the basics;
- Find a Market – Preferably a starving market. This is your “niche”. You’ll also want to know exactly what the people in this market are searching for – What do they need?
- Find the terms they use to search for what they need – Your “keywords”
- Create or find a product to solve their problem, or market your existing product(s) to them
- Design your website around the keywords that have the highest “effectiveness” (KEI). Create your content around these keywords.
- Buy your domain name and hosting
- Build and set up your website.
If you’re looking to expand your existing “brick and mortar” business into an online business, you should already have a lot of the information you need. You know your market, and hopefully know which products are the most popular and profitable. This doesn’t necessarily mean you should skip any steps. You may find other opportunities to expand your off-line business, or you may find that online customers are looking for different products, like downloadable digital books.
So, how do you build a web site you can be proud of, and that will be able to attract traffic and make you a profit, as well. First of all, don’t go and sign up for a domain name or web hosting now. You really won’t need it for awhile, and there’s no reason to pay for it while you’re not going to be using it. Do your research first, then build and organize your content, using a simple program like Notepad. Once you have everything you need all in one place, building your site will be much quicker and easier.
Here are the steps you need to take, in the order you need to take them, to build a unique, professional, profit pulling website. Continue on to Step 1…or return the off-line generated version by clicking HERE.
